🤯 Bears Genius OC Search Tactics 👀
Bears are doing it... Right??
At the time of me typing this, the Bears have interviewed 9 candidates for the head coaching job.
2 specifically, more significant than the rest.
Greg Roman and Kliff Kingsbury.
Greg Roman coached Lamar Jackson in Baltimore during his MVP season, featuring a run heavy offense lead by Lamars legs. A hire like Greg Roman just SCREAMS Justin Fields is returning.
But then bringing in Kliff Kingsbury, Caleb Williams QB Coach at USC, screams the opposite.
Moral of the story: The Bears are turning EVERY stone, preparing for both Fields and Caleb, and getting advice and intel while doing so 👀
Not only that, but they are keeping the entire NFL Guessing on what they will do at QB, driving up the price for both the #1 Pick and Justin Fields at the same time.
During the Interview Process, Poles said it’s important for each candidate to have a plan for any “Type” of QB They will have. So Interviewing Greg Roman Means the Bears took notes on how to maximize Justin Fields should they keep him.
Kliff Kingsbury not only will offer his plan for Caleb Williams development, but he will give valuable intel on him as a prospect as well. Thats what makes this interview so smart. The Bears staff will fly out to California today to meet with him, starting the scouting process on the potential #1 pick of the draft.
All in all, I think the Bears know who they want to hire. I personally think it will be Shane Waldron or Klint Kubiak. But its so refreshing to see how deep and thorough the Bears are going to hire their next Offensive Coordinator.
After all… Luke Getsy was hired 24 hours after Matt Eberflus was hired. Learning from their mistakes!
